Solar Eclipse

America took a front seat row in what seemed to be an experience you didn't want to miss. The solar eclipse show was a show you didn't want to miss out on. Here at South Carolina State University, at the Oliver C. Dawson stadium, as well as many other locations welcomed people from all around to experience the solar eclipse.

Solar Eclipse Countdown

As many students, schools, kids, faculty members, and people from the community flooded the gates of the stadium, hundreds of glasses were distributed for the protection of the eyes of the solar eclipse.

Just when the celebration was starting to get great, at 1:14 pm, many started to put their glasses on to see what is called the "partial eclipse". I put my second pair of glasses over my phone camera lenses to take a picture of it and this is what I saw.

Partial Eclipse

Total Eclipse

And as the temperature got cooler, and the skies got darker, I looked up at 2:43, to only see what seemed to be the coolest thing ever, the total eclipse. I didn't think I would be able to catch such a great picture the way I did because I could not see through my glasses anymore, but I zoomed in, and went for it anyways. America has not seen a solar eclipse since February 26, 1979. The next one is predicted to be in March of 2024.
